The free encyclopedia that anyone can edit, I want to see what most people who've used it looked at!
I use it for lots of things, encyclopedia Britannica made a statement saying wiki was more up to date than them, so I think that says something.
I remember that!
Wikipedia isn't generally allowed in writing formal school papers, but it technically CAN be used, depending on how you use it. One technique is to check out the References of the Wiki article and use that as a source. The Wiki article is just supposed to guide you to general info and finding related readings.
In addition, I use WikiHow (not in the choices. ^-^
Thanks! I use wikihow too, I recently started writing for them
Usually whenever I google something Wikipedia is one of the first website sources that comes up so, of course, I usually check out what it has to say. That being said, I have always hear that it can be edited and that not all of the information is true so I don't use it as the ONLY source whenever I'm collecting information. I haven't made an account/ donated or thought much about it but I suppose the website does come in handy with school and research activities. :)
Interesting, thank you!
The website is alright, but I do not see such a point in having a "edit" choice if it just will be taken off or edited back.
I know what you mean, it makes it difficult to contribute.
I know, right? It is foolish...
Good survey. Considering you can't delete your Wikipedia profile, I just lock myself out instead (that's if I want no more to do with the account, that is) and yes, I have edited a Wiki article before. The first I think I was around 13-14 and I edited the Justin Bieber article and got banned, ahaha and then I tried to make a page on Warrior Cat deaths which got deleted because it was a "bunch of trivia" and then minor edits like editing BVB out the list of Gothic rock articles.
Lately I tried to add a song in the music category for "Cultural depictions of Joan of Arc" which was edited out again.
Yes, you might give me the advice of reading the rules before I post anything but they're long, boring and complicated like most things on Wikipedia.
I've never edited anything on mine, because almost everyone I know has done something that's been taken down.
