Hey everyone! A brand new group story is rolling in, come on in!

Chapter 1

Group Story Sign-Ups!

Hello and welcome to my very first group story! I do believe you know the drill, but if this is your first group story too, I'll be sure to explain what to do!

Background to the story:

It is going to be based on the song 'Scarborough Fair' so I'll put the song at the end of this :)

The town of Scarborough (for this story it won't be the actual town of Scarborough, it's a fictional town somewhere in Canada) is under a curse. A despicable curse that makes every traveller who stays there for one night forget who they really are in place of a brand new life. Their identity is rewritten, and they stay and work in the town without ageing. The trapped people soon develop relationships and have children, but the one catch is that they are children of the curse; since the curse is their natural state, they age like normal humans and if the curse is broken they will fade away. One day my character (who is the local healer) is mixing some herbs when she mixes parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme. This breaks the spell on her, and she becomes aware of the curse in the town. She recruits a small group of people who are willing to help her break it, find the perpetrator, and finish this. However, most children of the curse don't want it to end so they can continue living and, siding with the creator, fight against the curse breakers. The whole thing takes place present day.

My Character-

Name: Emilia Rutherford

Apparent age: 19

Date of Birth: 7th January, 1843

Child of the curse: No

Job: Apothecary

Appearance: Golden hair often done up in two plaits down to her mid back. She wears dresses of varying shades of blue, and usually an apron to protect them from the different spices, herbs, and tonics that she makes everyday. Her eyes are honey brown, and she has a smattering of freckles across her heart shaped face. Shes never seen without her sturdy brown boots that she wears out into the surrounding woods to gather plants and berries.

Personality: Kind, creative, clever, and very perceptive. She's the make-shift medicine woman of the town, and gives great advice too. She loves anything to do with nature, and is often seen reading a book on a tree swing out in her woodland grove. She's good with children, but wishes that babies were born already five, and skipping the, well, baby stage. She's obstinate, and doesn't stop pushing a point or investigating something she's invested in, which gets her into more trouble than she needs.

Love interest: Maybe!

The song this is based on!

Are you going to Scarborough Fair:
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme.
Remember me to one who lives there.
She once was a true love of mine.

On the side of a hill in the deep forest green.
Tracing of sparrow on snow-crested brown.
Blankets and bedclothes the child of the mountain
Sleeps unaware of the clarion call.

Tell her to make me a cambric shirt:
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme;
Without no seams nor needle work,
Then she'll be a true love of mine.

On the side of a hill a sprinkling of leaves.
Washes the grave with silvery tears.
A soldier cleans and polishes a gun.
Sleeps unaware of the clarion call.

Tell her to find me an acre of land:
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme;
Between the salt water and the sea strand,
Then she'll be a true love of mine.

War bellows blazing in scarlet battalions.
Generals order their soldiers to kill.
And to fight for a cause they've long ago forgotten.

Tell her to reap it with a sickle of leather:
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme;
And gather it all in a bunch of heather,
Then she'll be a true love of mine.
