Okay, so this is something I did in English class with "Life of Pi".
It's where you take words from- well, poets.org has a better definition, here:
Found poems take existing texts and refashion them, reorder them, and present them as poems. The literary equivalent of a collage, found poetry is often made from newspaper articles, street signs, graffiti, speeches, letters, or even other poems.
So, I liked it, and it was really cool, so I've decided to make a few from different books! :D
Scared (from "City of Lost Souls" in the Mortal Instrument series)
The sun lighting the top of the hill
Where Isabelle sat atop one of the boulders.
He started to smile.
She looked up,
Pushing her long, dark hair out of her face.
He could smell her perfume- vanilla-
As she leaned forward.
Her words were muffled against his neck.
He wanted to kiss her,
Wanted it so badly he felt his hands begin to shake.
He lowered his hands
Touching the white scars
That snowflaked her silvery skin
On her throat, on her arms.
"I want to be with you, Simon."
She touched his lips with her fingertips.
"I trust you."
The scent of her was everywhere, all over him.
"Aren't you scared?" he whispered.
She looked up at him with her glowing dark eyes.
"I don't fake things, Simon," she said.
"And I don't lie, and I don't pretend."
He could feel her sigh. He touched her face.
"And you're not scared of anything."
So this one is obviously about Simon and Isabelle from the "City of Lost Souls" in the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. If you haven't read her books before, I highly recommend them they are AMAZING.
Hope you all like the found poem! :D
