Chapter 2

Batch #2 - May 17, 2014

by: Noiz
Free! Iwatobi Swim Club (anime):

My Rating: 3.5/5
Episodes: 12 (getting second season this year! WOOT WOOT!)
Warnings: None.
Why you should watch: The main character, Haru(ka) Nanase, is obsessed with water. He never did any competitions, and always says he only swims "free." (hence the name of the anime lol)
Haru always swam with three other boys, Makoto, Nagisa, and Rin, in elementary school.
One day, Rin tells them that he was going to Australia to train to go to the olympics. So, Rin asks, "won't you swim with me (at the relay race)?" (for the last time before Rin leaves to Australia)

So.. FLASH FORWARD. TO HIGHSCHOOL, BAM BAM HARU AND THE OTHER'S ARE NOW 17.

Makoto, Haru, and Nagisa go to a school called Iwatobi High School. They meet up with Rin once more and it turns out he's going to a different school, and his personality had changed drastically. It was as if they weren't friends anymore.

Besides all of that, Makoto, Haru, Nagisa, and along with a brand new member called Rei, form a swimming club, in hopes of doing a swimming competition with Rin as their opponent (and also hoping to defeat Rin :D!)

So why should you watch this?

Yes, I wouldn't say, that it has the BEST STORY EVAR, BUT, it is still really cute and awesome and a bit of feels.

But dude. The art. Is amazing. Every character, the water, everything looks spectacular.

The OP and ED are very nice to listen to aswell, and they are both very catch.. MAKE US FREE, NE SPLASH KASANETA! coughs excuse me..

It is a short 12 episode swimming anime, with tons of hot guys! (and girls I guess murmurs) It's a very fun watch. :) (and easy to re-watch aswell! I've rewatched it like 4 times hhhahahha)

Note: By obsessed with water I MEAN OBSESSED. I MEAN, REALY. IF HE SEES A FISH TANK HE WILL SERIOUSLY STRIP AND GET IN OK

Kuroko no Basket (anime):

My Rating: 4.5/5
Episodes: Two seasons, 50 in total.
Warnings: None
Why you should watch: OKAY IT'S WAY TOO COMPLICATED FOR ME TO EXPLAIN. LIKE OMFG. So here I go..

So basically, it's about Basketball. Obviously. In Basketball, there's this group called "The Generation of Miracles." They are extremely good basketball powers, each with their own special talent. It consists of five members, including a mystery sixth man.. Kuroko. His ""basketball""" is different from all the other styles of basketballs out there.

Together, along with Kuroko's companion, Kagami, who is rash, out-going, hard-headed, guy, they aim to win Inter-high (or Winter Cup in season 2), hopefully, to beat all the members of the GoM.

Okay, first of all. Doesn't sound exciting, amirite? To be honest, I wasn't too hyped up about starting this anime. I wasn't too big of the art style (someitmes I was fairly impressed though) and I'm not a huge huge fan of sports anime. But, one I started watching, I got hooked.

Yes.. those typical "amazingly SUPER OP" players.. whether it be basketball, tennis, soccer.. etc. With all the dunks and the badass passes and stuff.. yeah, ofcofc.

BUT NO.
EVEN SO.

It's really worth the watch.

I found the anime extremely funny and there were some feels here and there.. sniff bromance feels...

OKAY SORRY.

It's nice to see how each person unravels and discover their talents; watch them grow and shet. You know? Like discover new moves, powers, how to play.. stuff like that. I also liked how the GoM were all connected and how they changed as soon as they went to highschool and their own separate ways..

There are some things that are repetitive and predictable, but still, it kept me on the edge of my seat. Even if you're not a huge basketball fan, I would definitely recommend Kuroko no Basket. (also, the soundtracks were quite good.)

Note: Maybe, you could already spot that Kuroko no Basket and Free! Have many similarities. Different ways, new friends, rivalry..and if you've already seen both of them.. they both have, the admirer and the person that's being admired (nitori and rin, kise and aomine,) , the duo that separated, (rin and haru, aomine and kuroko), and the current duo. (haru and makoto, kagami and kuroko.)

07 Ghost (ANIME AND MANGA):

My Rating: anime: 4/5. manga, 5/5.
Episodes: One season, 25 episodes.
Warnings: Feels.
Why you should watch it: Teito Klein, is the top military student for the Barsburg Empire. He has forgotten all of the memories of his past, besides that he was a slave for the defeated Raggs Kingdom. Before he had been able to graduate, certain events and small chunks of memories of his past invade him and now he is a convict. He manaed to escape, to only end up in the District 7, Barsburg Church. It is said to be guarded by the 7 Ghosts. (AND ALSO VERY HOT BISHOPS GASH dies from even thinking about them

There, he discovers many things, including that he may wield a legendary stone, called the Eye of Mikhail, something wanted by the Barsbug Empire.

Are the 7 Ghosts real? Are they someone Teito knows? What exactly happened in his past? Was he really JUST a slave? And,who was Ayanami, a strong chief for the Barsburg Empire military?

YES OKAY. 07 GHOST = MY LIFE. IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL.

First of all, the anime is uncomplete. But, there will 99% chance to be NO 2nd season. The 1st season ends off and a point where ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN.

Luckily, the FINISHED manga fills up the hole.

The art is beautiful. So, so, beautiful. The backround, the characters.. just everything. The characters are amazing as well. It's just so hard to put into words.

The story is unique I guess? 7 Ghost = kind of like grim reaper sort of? But they all have their own special powers, each of the 7 ghosts, so it's not EXACTLY like a grim reaper. But they look similar, witht he scythe and skull head.

What makes it even more interesting are the characters. I was so happy when I got to know my favourite characters' past, and they're all so sad, too.

The OSTs for 07 Ghost are very lovely.. a lot of them sound so holy huehue.

If you like the anime, defniitely go for the manga. You won't be disappointed. The manga is a lot better than the anime, but the anime is very good aswell.
