My Opinion On J.K. Rowling's Admitted Mistake On Ron And Hermione

Chapter 1

Most of you Potterheads know that over the weekend, J.K. Rowling admitted to a mistake she made while writing Harry Potter: Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger never should have gotten married.

Now, when I first heard about this, I nearly died. But now that I have regained my senses, I have realised a few things.

1. While I was reading Harry Potter, I always expected Ron and Hermione to get married.

2. Snape is played by Alan Rickman.

Well, not the second thing. I already knew that, having done a research report on the Harry Potter movies the previous year. But the first is completely and irrevocably true. And as I pondered this, I realised Ms. Rowling's realisation made sense.

Don't tell me you didn't think Ron and Hermione would get married. They did, in the end. Like a fairy tale. A fairy tale! Harry and Ginny were surprising enough, yet perfect, and so that worked. But Harry Potter is not a fairy tale, it's a story. A brilliant story, at that.

Like all good writers, J.K. Rowling went back over her work and found mistakes. We all do. None of us are perfect and we never will be. I'm not saying that Harry Potter isn't the best book in the world - it always will be, for me. But she made mistakes. It doesn't make my opinion any worse.

Yes, Ron and Hermione are perfect together - but we needed a twist. And that is my opinion. Feel free to disagree, I respect your opinion! ~
