Chapter 1

Meet Mia

I logged on to my Twitter and mindlessly scrolled through my seeminly endless timeline. One Direction stuff seemed to overtake everything else, as usual. Yes, I am a directioner. As such, I had already seen most of the tweets. I got bored and closed my laptop.

Looking around the room I saw my clothes scattered among rubbish that belonged in the bin. I didn't feel like doing anything, but it was necessary at this point. My roomate soon interrupted my thoughts as she came barreling in through my door.

"MIIIIAAAAA!!!" I covered my ears as she plopped onto my bed beside me with her mobile in her hand. "Ouch! Ease up Mel!" Melody was my roomate. We lived in a flat on the outskirts of London. She was attending London School of the Arts and was trying to become an actress. She had been auditioning all over the place trying to just get an in into the industry.

"Guess whaaat!!" She sang. "What?" "I just got a call from my latest audition! They want me, Mia! They want me! Eeep!!" She started squealing and bouncing up and down. A smile took over my face. "That's awesome! When do you start?"

She calmed a bit and a worried expression crossed her face. "Well, that's just it. I leave in two weeks and they want me to move to Dublin." I'm pretty sure my jaw hit the floor. "/Ireland?!?!/" She nodded cautiously. "So I'm going to be on my own?"

"I'm so sorry, Mia. I didn't want this to happen, but I can't pass this offer up." I shook my head. "No, no. Of course not! This is your dream! I'll be fine." We talked about it a bit longer and then I just let her tell me all about the audition and her communications with the people she called.

The whole time the thought ran through my mind. "What am I going to do?" I can't afford this flat on my own. I'm studying at uni as well, but I'm trying to get into journalism. Her mobile rang again and she left to answer it. I could hear her shrill voice of excitement as she walked down the hall.

I pulled my laptop back up. I wonder if anyone would be looking for a roommate. I searched for housing in London and saw lots of adverts. One particular one looked promising. It was from a girl named Charlotte. Its worth a shot. I wrote her a message and cautiously pressed send. Please work.

Sorry its kind of short and boring. Things will pick up soon :)
