Untitled For Now

Hey guys XD
This randomly came to me after I watched Sharkboy and Lavagirl, so it might be a little similar. It's kinda like an elements story, and yeah. Comment and such, even if you hate it. Let me know, because I love writing and I might publish this one day. If I can... XD

Chapter 1

Her hair was fire. Every strand was a flame. It burned around her head, leaping and curling into nothing. Her dark eyes glowed like hot coals, and her feet singed the ground where she walked. Her mouth was set in a line, no emotion showing on her face. She didn't speak to anyone, she didn't stop. If she did, her past would catch up to her and she would forget everything she tried so hard to keep hidden. The girl was Fire. The girl was Adene.

She was running through the dark, her hair lighting up the trees stripped of their leaves. It was fall, and Adene was alone. Her goal was to get to the top of the mountain by sunrise. There, she would stop and wait. But she couldn't take too long, or she would be found. He had followed her, and Adene left him there after she had what she needed. She felt guilty, because the boy had actually trusted her. Adene hadn't trusted the boy, though. Beacause Adene had no trust.

The sun was just peeking out from behind the white topped mountain as she reached the peak. Tired, she stopped to rest on a rock that had been worn away by the fierce winds. Adene sighed, wishing Castor was here. She could use his warmth right about now. Standing up, Adene watched the sun rise over the mountain, turning the snow pink and red. It was time for her to move on. Taking a deep breath of the cool air, Adene ran.

She ran down the mountain, through the now lit forest, and past a village. She wasn't going to stop, not until she couldn't possibly run anymore. Adene passed many houses, no doubt holding familes that loved each other. Adene's pace lessened as she remembered her mother and father. Her father was a normal man, just like any father. But her mother, she had been Fire before Adene.

Her mother and father hoped Adene was a normal child, for if she became Fire, Adene's mother would pass on. Sadly, about a week after she was born, Adene's hair changed form the blonde she had been born with to the flaming red she had now. She blamed herself. If her first word hadn't been fire, if she didn't love the candle flame so much, her mother never would've found out. But she did, and that night Adene's hair caught fire. Her mother turned to ashes.

Once Adene was ten years old, she ran. She left a note for her father, telling him that she loved him and that this was for the best. Her father disappeared. She assumed he went looking for her, but never succeeded. Adene never let herself see a burned out fire, because it remined her of her mother. She kept moving, not stopping. Adene figured that if you kept going, life would never catch up. But it did.

"Who are you?" she demanded, fire glowing on her fingertips. The boy took a step back, fear written on his face.

"Kai," he whispered.

"Why are you here?" The fire glowed brighter. The boy stepped back again, the back of his knees knocking against a rock.

"I don't know. There was something calling me here, to this spot. I'm supposed to be looking for Adene," Kai said, standing up straighter.

"I might know her..." Adene said, the fire dying. He looked happy.

"Do you know where I could find her?" he asked. She smirked, and leaned back against the rock wall of the cave.

"If you blink twice, she'll be right in front of you," Adene told him. He blinked twice, a look of confusion on his face.

"But you're still here..." he said, whining like a lost puppy.

"That's because I am Adene."
