An American Witch at Hogwarts
This takes place during the age of the Mauraders. Hope you guys like it.
*Spoiler Alert*Note: This is not completely accurate. Unfortunately, Bellatrix Lestrange didn't attend Hogwarts at the same time as the Marauders. It's my bad, and I hope you guys will forgive me for that.
Mudbloods and Mayhem
As early spring gave way to the wonderful warmth of late spring, I found myself tutoring younger students in my spare time. Severus withdrew bit by bit, his so-called friends doing everything they could to convince him that blood supremacy was ideal. A letter from home seemed to finally convince him of the truth in their poisonous whisperings.
With him firmly in their grasp, they set their sights on me. I am ashamed to admit I did not argue with them, wishing to maintain with my boyfriend’s companions.
May finally arrived and the stress was almost palpable. Several students ended up in the hospital wing. Curses were exchanged between Gryffindors and Slytherins whenever professors turned their backs. I was at odds with myself.
Things were getting out of hand. Even through the stress and mourning, Severus could tell that much. Luci had become distant, her eyes blank most of the time they were together.
His so-called friends weren’t helping matters, either. With his father in prison and no one to handle his mother’s funeral arrangements, he’d gone along with their wishes. There was no end in sight and it was only going to get worse.
I sat at the Gryffindor table, my mind in a distant place. The others kept their distance, shooting disgusted looks my way whenever they thought I wouldn’t notice. The glances ceased, though, when Lily plopped down beside me.
“Lily… What are you doing?â€
“We need to talk,†she whispered, setting her back on her other side.
“You. Are you alright?â€
I nodded a little, pouring myself some more pumpkin juice. “Why wouldn’t I be?â€
She frowned as she looked me over. “Because you look terrible. What’s been going on?â€
I sighed and stood. “I’m fine. Thank you for your concern,†I snapped. Without another word, I stalked away.
Sev was exiting the dungeons when Luci collided with him, sending books flying. Muttering darkly, she summoned them. He frowned as he stood, offering her his hand.
“Leave me alone,†she snapped, not meeting his gaze.
“No, Lucinda, I won’t,†Sev whispered as she stood. His eyes followed her every movement, hoping for some hint as to what was going on in her head.
“What do you want, Snape?†Her gaze lifted from the floor, icy blue eyes finding his black gaze. “Need to scold me for talking to Lily?â€
“Why would I do that?†His brow furrowed. “What did she want?â€
She laughed bitterly as she stepped back from him. “Why does it matter? I’m allowed to be friends with her.â€
“I thought she hated you.â€
“No, she hates you!†she screamed. People exiting the dungeons and the Great Hall stopped to watch Conant scream at Snape. “She hates you because you called her a mudblood! A MUDBLOOD! Well, guess what? I’m not like you! I have never been like you! I don’t care about blood status!†Tears filled her eyes. “Now leave me alone…â€
“Luci…†he whispered, reaching for her.
“I’m done, Severus.†Shaking her head, she turned and ran.
I don’t care either, though… he thought bitterly as he glared at those gathered. “What are you looking at? Go, before I decide to hex you all!â€
A hand clapped down on his shoulder and he looked up to see Dumbledore standing behind him. “We need to talk, Severus…â€
