I'm an Atheist, but way before I decided to be an Atheist, I despised Christmas. I still do. I can't stand the songs, I hate the cheerfulness, the family gatherings disturb me. It's all so childish and annoying. I enjoy opening presents and all, but I just can't stand any of it. I assume this is because I have been severely depressed for 6 or 7 years, and I've always felt envious of others' happiness. I'm doing a lot better now, but I still dislike it a lot.
I'm not even religious, so I don't really care about the Jesus part. I care about the family part, the presents, the songs, and the fun of the holiday. It's one of my favorite parts of the year and I can't wait for it! :)
Christmas is a time to give and remember the birth of Jesus Christ.
