And "dude" really doesn't mean boy
I call everyone dude. People are always like "Why are you calling a girl a dude??" I just say "cuz she's dude"
I say it's a just grammer and I hate english so...yep.
I'm about to get all 'Linguist' on you. :P
I think it's something to do with the fact that English has no single word to address a group of people not including the self. I.E. you can say 'we' but that includes yourself - not a single term to say that group of people. Guys is one way to work around this, in some parts of the South, it's y'all. Most people still just use 'you all.' Guys is just something that somehow filled that gap rather than another word.
Usually boys is dudes so...
guys get offended when you feminize them but girls are indifferent when their masculinized
Guys guys guys guys guys guys doesn't sound like a word anymore. . .
How come u answer when someone says guys?
Well.... They don't call us boys so...
But that's an interesting question
