STORY TIME! YAAAY! I'm a guitarist in a pop-punk band. I have a friend that started trash talking my band because I have played metal-style guitar (for his band because they needed another guitarist for a one-time thing) and now my band (which has yet to be payed to play), I in particular, is supposedly selling out. MY BAND HAS NEVER PLAYED OR CLAIMED TO BE METAL. I have played everything from country to classical to hard rock. I am really tracking sick of those mofos.
ex-friend. NOBODY TALKS SH**T ABOUT MY BAND OR MY FRIENDS.
I know right now everyone thinks I'm an a-shole like them but im not, Im actually really nice.. -.-
I'm not a metalhead but I love my sub genres. It's not about "not letting BVB or AA" take over, really, but Ezophagothomia and Evanescence are both metal but sound completely different to each other. It's why we have our sub genres.
Music is my passion, it's like how some people have sports or dancing as a passion.
Hahaha yes, I mean, the Gothic subculture is sometimes tied with the heavy metal subculture. We can't exactly fight amongst ourselves in it (even though we don't have to like everyone in our subcultures just because they are in it).
I actually used to be goth at one point but after a while I realized it wasn't for me but I don't really get how goth and heavy metal is mixed up though. I mean the music isn't even the same.
Well you're either goth or you aren't: if you were once one then you weren't a real one.
You can get Gothic metal, so people who listen to Gothic metal can be called metal Goths.
